Slow Road Audio Clips

Pardon my dust. This page was initially cobbled together in a rush. I'll come back and tidy up soon.

Here are a couple of essays, songsand stories from yours truly--for what it's worth.

Hush My Babe / A Christmas Song...sung by Fred

These readings from the book are "as is" from the studio recordings at WVTF, Roanoke's NPR station. These were recorded for the Radio Readers program for the visually impaired, and the files kindly shared with me by the studio staff.

I'm in the process of parsing the seven larger mp3 files into roughly 10 minute segments, and below are the first several installments. I'm considering editing in some musical bullets to fade in and fade out each vignette, and possibly to add some ambient sounds from Goose Creek.

I'll be very pleased to hear your comments, suggestions and ideas for how and where these sound files might find a further life. Email me -- fred1st over on gmail.

Tried several clips. Even after they seem to be fully loaded, the audio starts and stops, with only 1-3 seconds at a time, then pause, then another 1-3 seconds, etc. etc. I used both Mozilla and Explorer. Same results. I have cable internet, so the connection speed shouldn't be the problem? ~~ eArThworm (http://booksforhikers.com)
